Train and then Ferry from Aberdeen to Lerwick

Catch a train to Aberdeen where the ferry is about a 10min walk from the train station.

Northlink Ferries have daily evening sailings from Aberdeen for an overnight journey to Lerwick.

There is also a ferry route via Scrabster on the north coast of Scotland to Stromness in Orkney and then  from Kirkwall to Lerwick on the Aberdeen to lerwick ferry. This which might suit if you are planning a few days in Orkney but is not a daily service.
