Lerwick, Shetland – Travel Information

Lerwick Travel And Finding The Ship

We are expecting that Trinovante will be on the East side of the river but this is yet to be confirmed.

Find Trinovante Using AIS

This is the easiest way to find Trinovante in port

AIS will give an accurate location of our position in port. Vessel Finder is just one web site that provides free AIS ship tracking. Many of our crew now use AIS apps on their smartphones to find us.

Train and then Ferry from Aberdeen to Lerwick

Catch a train to Aberdeen where the ferry is about a 10min walk from the train station.

Northlink Ferries have daily evening sailings from Aberdeen for an overnight journey to Lerwick.

There is also a ferry route via Scrabster on the north coast of Scotland to Stromness in Orkney and then  from Kirkwall to Lerwick on the Aberdeen to lerwick ferry. This which might suit if you are planning a few days in Orkney but is not a daily service.
