Trinovante takes part in The Tall Ships Races as often as possible and has been lucky enough to have both professional and amateur filmmakers sailing onboard.
The races are huge fun both out at sea and ashore in the host ports.
They are an alive and kicking international celebration of ships and young people in sail training today.
Trinovante last raced in the Baltic Sea Tall Ships Races in 2017 and there are three short films from that season here.
We hope you enjoy the films and thanks to our fantastic crews for taking the time to make them.

A Tall Ships Race Film
By Paul Farmer
Two youth members of the crew of the schooner Trinovante tell their own story of the Tall Ships Race 2008 between Bergen in Norway and Den Helder in the Netherlands. To their amazement they find themselves winning their class until wind and ocean take a hand. It’s a tale of gales, calms and a close brush with Aberdeen, with reflections of international friendships made and dreams of all-day breakfasts….

Tall Ships Crew Parade
By Robin Harvey
The Trinovantes were the Celtic tribe resident in our local area of the Thames Estuary and Colchester when the Romans first invaded Britain 54BC .
No one really knows what they actually wore back in the days of Boudicca so we felt we had a pretty free rein for Team Trinovante’s crew parade costumes
Some have suggested we should be naked and painted in wode for the crew parade but fortunately for the crowds we opted for clothes.
