Sailing the Cornish Rivers
This is the first time Cornwall sailing holidays have been available onboard our schooner Trinovante but John, the skipper, knows this area very well having sailed his previous boat extensively around Plymouth and Falmouth.
Devon and Cornwall are both very popular sailing areas.
The Cornish coastline is more rugged with craggy cliffs giving way to soft green woody river valleys further inland. Here trees kiss the water at high tide.
The Devon coast is softer than the Cornish coast but still has it’s jagged headlands and sheltered bays.
Dartmouth, Plymouth and Fowey are places we might visit. Most nights Trinovante will be alongside in harbour but we do also hope to spend a night at anchor.
A trip to the Eddystone Lighthouse might be possible, if the wind and tides are right.
This Cornwall sailing holiday ends in Falmouth. Falmouth’s oyster dredging fishery is unique in that it does not allow the user of engines and is the only sail-powered fishery in the UK.
