The East Coast Pilot is Imrays best-selling pilot book for the coast between Lowestoft and Ramsgate, written for all who cruise these waters for pleasure. Here you can find updates and other news and services that can help you enjoy this wonderful cruising ground.

RYA Courses Suffolk
Sarah Hopkinson runs a range of shorebased on and on the water RYA courses. If you have any RYA training books her name may well have a familiary ring because she has been involved in writing several of them including the RYA Competent Crew Introduction To Yachting.

Mike Emmets and Kevin Murphys latest book Working Traditional Sail Featuring The Lore Of Weather And Tide. The first part follows a crew, which includes the reader, on a voyage aboard a sailing vessel. The part contains detailed explanations of the gear, terminology or actions, which are partly instructive, partly historic with clear illustrations.

Thames Sailing Barges
The sailing workhorses of yester-year. A number of these vessels still survive in various roles, some fully active, others used as house barges or are awaiting restoration, while many are rotting away, abandoned in creeks long ago. This is a well thought out and regulally updated web site.

Wooden Boat Builder, Essex

Fabian Bush is a well known local wooden boat builder who lives across the river from where we built Trinovante. Fabian does restoration work, custom builds and repairs. He has also run our local Traditional Boatbuilding course at the Nottage Institute, Wivenhoe for many years.
