Getting to and from your tall ship sailing holiday

Read articles written by people who have been on a SchoonerSail sailing holiday in our newsletter archive or see the Norway section of our sailing holidays blog to read lots of posts by people who have sailed onboard Trinovante during last summer, 2011.

This voyage is likely to be all day sailing with time to have a wander ashore and potter in fantastic scenery.

Leaving Stavanger
From the sheltered waters around Stavanger we will set out for a 40 mile passage through the more exposed waters off Norway's Sorlandet (the south land). We sail past the south west coastal beaches until the fjords and islands of Egersund and Flekkfjord are reached. These areas have the rugged cliffs and scenery more usually associated with Western Norway.

Possible places we might visit are Mandal, Norway's most southerly town, with it's old style white clapboard houses,

Towards Krisitansand
West of Lindesnes the land becomes softer and more heavily wooded with a fringe of islands leading to Kristiansand - our destination. Last visited by Trinovante in 2010 at the start of the Kristiansand to Hartlepool Tall Ships Race

Everyone can get a discount on their sailing holiday.

In an effort to keep prices as low for you as we can we give you a discount if you pay us by bank transfer (or, for your balance payment due when you arrive onboard by bank transfer or cash) this saves us administrative costs which we pass on to you.
You can of course pay us by credit or debit card or cheque but then you need to pay the non discounted price in brackets.

So it's that simple - pay by bank transfer - get a discount!

What time do I join and leave the boat?
For everything other than our 'learn to sail weekends' arrival time is 6pm on the first day of the voyage and we provide an evening meal. Leaving time is 10 am on the last day of the voyage. However we know flight time can be tricky and vary hugely in price. Early morning flights on the day of arrival can usually be accommodated and for leaving it is often possible to catch a late flight on the day before you are due to leave or an early morning flight on the official day of departure. Please do check things with us before booking flights though.

Travel in Norway is generally efficient, clean, surprisingly cheap at times and the stunning scenery makes it an experience in itself. Language difficulties almost never arise, most Norwegians speak excellent English.
