What will you get from this sailing holiday?

This voyage will be mostly day sailing with one or or maybe two overnight voyages between Copenhagen, the Danish Island of Bornholm and the South Coast of Sweden.

Copenhagen

The capital of Denmark, wonderful Copenhagen is an iconic city with beautiful water fronts and canals, historic buildings, parks and museums. As ever if you have plenty of time it is worth adding a couple of days to your holiday to spend some time in Copenhagen.

Helsingor

This is where your voyage starts just a short train ride from Copenhagen Airport. In Helsingør you will find Trinovante moored next to the impressive Renaissance Kronborg Castle which once controlled all shipping entering or leaving the Baltic. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site Shakespere's Hamlet is set here. Also right next to the boat is the Helsingør Maritime Museum. Previous crew though this was well worth a visit.

The Voyage

Leaving Copenhagen Trinovante may well head out on the first day across the Oresund into an overnight passage rounding the southern tip of Sweden. We may head for the South coast of Sweden and call at Karlskrona a historic centre for shipping and Sweden's only remaining naval base.

We may also head for Bornholm, a Danish Island set between the southern tip of Sweden and Poland. Trinovante first visited here in 2015 and found a very popular holiday island with a thriving artistic community and a lively buzz.

Next heading up the East Coast of Sweden we might call at Berkvara, once a big sailing ship centre. The Vikings were here and the name Berkvara means 'shore with birches'.

If we have time we may also call at the island of Oland on the other side of the Kalmar Strait.

Kalmar

Trinovante finishes this voyage moored next to another well preserved Renaissance Castle this time at Kalmar. You know you are in Sweden, the marina here has saunas. Once one of Sweden's most important cities Kalmar is a very pretty town with well preserved buildings and parts of the old walls still intact.
