All 2017 Adventure Sailing Voyages

All our sailing holiday itineraries are carefully crafted to make your journey to the ship as easy and reasonably priced as possible.
Prices for flights often go up over time so it may also be a good idea to book flights early.

in Sweden and Denmark most people speak good English.

Option 1 Fly to Copenhagen and then catch a train to Kalmar.

Copenhagen airport is a major international hub and it should be easy to find a reasonably priced convenient flight.Easy Jet and Ryan Air both fly here.
The skyscanner map and google flights can be quite helpful for finding flights and google now includes a price tracker.

Top tip from crew if you are flying from the UK

"We used a National Express coach to get from Stansted (where we left the car) to Luton, and thus used one airport for "out" and the other for "return" - not something I'd thought of doing before, but it gave much more flexibility than trying to get both legs to/from the same airport in the UK."

The Train to Kalmar

The train station at Copenhagen/Kastrup/ Airport (in Danish Köbenhavns Lufthavn) is actually in the Airport. When you arrive in Kalmar Trinovante will be moored next to Kalmar Central station - see the map below.

Two competing train operators serve the Copenhagen to Kalmar line

SJ Swedish Railways

Øresundståg. Øresundståg have the the most frequent and direct services.

The journey time is 4 hours with a direct train every two hours. Ticket price is around £40

You can buy tickets for for all train services at the SJ machine at the Copenhagen Airport station, or buy them online. Or buy your ticket at the ticket office at Copenhagen Airport. Tickets bought at the airport it may be at a different price to the website.

Tips from previous crew about this journey

"It is interesting to cross the Øresund Bridge to Sweden, and then it is a beautiful train journey across southern Sweden. There's only a catering trolley on board, so for a meal it's best to buy something before you get on. There are electrical outlets on the train so a final opportunity to top up!"

"A first class ticket gives you more space plus included coffee, tea, water and fruit. It is cheaper if bought in advance online - a bit more if bought on the day."

"We paid online for the train tickets - they were sent electronically, and could either be printed out or displayed on a phone."

Option 2 Go by Train All the Way

You can find all the info you will ever need and more on the Man in Seat 61 website.

Click on the Google Map icons above to reveal more information. The exact location of Trinovante is finalised on arrival in port and we then update joining crew by email..
This map gives you enough information to plan your travel and familarise yourself with the area but remember we may be on a different pontoon or quay on the day. You can also follow Trinovante on AIS which will give an accurate location. Vessel Finder is one web site that provides free AIS ship tracking.
